TiriTiri Matangi Island is one of New Zealand's most important and exciting conservation projects. Volunteers have replanted the land with trees. In conjunction with this planting programme, all mammalian predators have been eradicated and a number of species of threatened and endangered birds have been successfully introduced. Nowhere in New Zealand can you readily walk amongst so many species in such significant quantities.

Depart from the Heliport to take in the magnificent sights of Auckland, the 'City of Sails'. On the flight you will be taken across to the North Shore's east coast beaches and their million dollar mansions. Over the Harbour Bridge we'll continue over Auckland Zoo, Eden Park and the motorway's 'spaghetti junction'. From the waterfront area the flight tracks across to the Devonport Naval Base, North head and Rangitoto Island our youngest volcano. This flight takes approximately 20 minutes.

For all 'Lord of the Rings' fans today we visit the Hobbiton set, on a farm in the rural area of Matamata. The Hobbiton movie set has returned to its natural state, however; hobbit holes and some structures from the film set are still present. Your guide will escort you through the ten acre site, recounting fascinating details of how the Hobbiton set was created.

Today you will visit one of a selection of small freestone streams or spring creeks within a 2˝ hour drive of central Auckland. We will be nymph or dry fly fishing for rainbow and brown trout. Whether you are a novice or experienced angler we will give you an unforgettable fishing experience.

Tour prices include coach transport, driver, tour escort, morning tea, lunch, evening snack, sightseeing entry charges and New Zealand Goods and Services Tax at 12.5%.

No minimum and no maximum number. This is a scheduled tour and not a private tour. Participants travel with other members of the public.

Two of New Zealand's most famous attractions are visited during this day tour. The Waitomo Glow Worm Caves and the spectacular geothermal region of Rotorua, rich with Maori culture and natural history. Highlights include a guided tour of Waitomo Glow Worm Caves before travelling on to Rotorua. Rotorua is New Zealand's highest city at 350 metres above sea level. In Rotorua visit Rainbow Springs Trout and Wildlife Sanctuary where you can see huge trout and some of New Zealand's endemic birds such as the kea, tui and kiwi, the New Zealand Farm Show where you can see a sheep being shorn, Government Gardens, Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve with its geysers, furmaroles, mud pools and boiling waters, New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute to see wood carving, weaving displays and carved buildings. Return to Auckland via the horse breeding district of Matamata and the pastureland of the Hauraki Plains.

En route you will be taking in spectacular views of some of the world's most active thermal region. On arrival a coach will transfer you to Whakarewarewa where you will learn and enjoy aspects of Maori culture and experience first hand some of the thermal activity in the area. View bubbling mud pools and spouting geyers.

Depart from Rotorua and fly over the craters of Tarawera en route to Solitaire Lodge. Here you will enjoy a delicious New Zealand dining experience matched only by the views of Lake Tarawera.

Depart from Solitaire Lodge and weave up Tarawera river, gorges and lakes northwards up the east coast over the beaches of the Coromandel Peninsula then returning to the heliport.
