| | | Business Law International - 2001 Conference | Cancun, Mexico, October 28, 2001 - November 2, 2001 |
Message from the Chair
The International Bar Association (IBA) has a growing reputation as the global voice for the legal profession. Our Conference in Cancun will bring together leading lawyers from all areas of practices in an arena which will enable them to discuss issues of direct relevance to them. Mexico was selected as the venue for this Conference because of its growing business environment with important trade links through NAFTA, and other countries, and the scope for foreign investment.
The working sessions at this Conference will cover the substantive legal topics and professional issues which are becoming increasingly important at an international level. Over 2,000 lawyers will meet in Cancun, providing valuable networking opportunities, as well as the chance to learn from expert speakers. The IBA believes that it has a responsibility to debate these important issues in its drive to become a centre of excellence for the legal profession.
At this, our first Conference in Mexico, I hope that we will be able to discuss these serious topics in a sociable and relaxed atmosphere and I look forward to welcoming you to Cancun.
