No member of the legal profession may be registered as a guest. Only registered guests (ie those paying the guest registration fee) are eligible to participate in the social programme and excursions.
Guests may not attend working sessions with the exception of the Opening Ceremony and the cultural issues programme, 'Drugs: if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem', taking place on Monday 29 October from 0930 to 1230.

Important Dates
In order for the early registration fees to apply, both the Registration Form and the payment must be at the IBA office by Friday 10 August.
For names to be included in the Preliminary List of Participants, which will be available to all registered delegates on the website in early September, Registration Forms and fees must be received at the IBA office by Friday 10 August. Please contact the IBA office to request a hard copy of the Preliminary List of Participants if required.
Registration Forms and payment must be received by Friday 21 September in order for names to be included in the Final List of Participants.
Friday 21 September is the latest date by which speakers' papers can be sent to the London office for transfer to the IBA website for access by delegates before the Conference.
Friday 12 October is the date from which Conference papers will be available on the IBA website, free of charge, to Conference delegates.
Registrations cannot be accepted at the IBA office from Wednesday 17 October. After this date, registration should be made on arrival at the Conference, at which time the higher fees will apply.
Notice of cancellation must be received at the IBA office, in writing, by Wednesday 17 October in order for fees to be refunded. A 15 per cent administration charge will be deducted.

Registration Fees include:
- Attendance at all working sessions.
- Conference documentation; including website access to any available speakers' papers, and to the preliminary list of participants.
- Opening Ceremony and Welcome Party on Sunday 28 October.
- Return transfers between the airport and the Conference Hotels on
27/28 October and 3/4 November provided flight details are supplied to the Conference agent, Epic.
- Free membership of the Section on Business Law or Section on Legal Practice and one Committee until
31 December 2002 for non-member delegates, who are eligible for IBA membership and who join the International Bar Association as a result of attending this Conference.
Guest Fees include:
- Opening Ceremony and Welcome Party on Sunday 28 October.
- Return transfers between the airport and the Conference Hotels on 27/28 October and 3/4 November provided flight details are supplied to the Conference agent, Epic.

Cancellation
Any cancellation must be received at the IBA office, in writing, by Wednesday 17 October in order for fees to be refunded. A 15 per cent administration charge will be deducted. After Wednesday 17 October, no refunds can be made but a substitute delegate may be nominated at any time. Registrations will be acknowledged in writing, but not by fax.

Payment of Registration Fees
US Dollars: by cheque or bank draft drawn on a US bank account held in the USA and in favour of the International Bar Association. Please send with Registration Form to the IBA office at the address below, OR by bank transfer to the IBA US dollar account, number 01286498 at the National Westminster Bank, (Sort code 56-00-03), St James's and Piccadilly Branch, 208 Piccadilly, London W1A 2DG, England, (SWIFT address NWBKGB2L). Please ensure that a copy of the transfer details are attached to your Registration Form and sent to the IBA office.
Credit card payments: The IBA is only able to accept credit card payments in Sterling (GBP) although the Conference registration fees are quoted in US dollars. Credit card companies apply daily market rates to customer transactions which are not sterling based. For delegates who use a US$ denominated card this may cause a slight variance between the dollars billed by the credit card company and the dollar Conference fee as quoted.
£ Sterling: by cheque or bank draft drawn on a UK bank and in favour of the International Bar Association, use an exchange rate of 1.45 US$ / £1. Please send with Registration Form to the IBA office at the address below, OR by bank transfer to the IBA Bank Account Number 13270222 at the National Westminster Bank (Branch 56-00-03), PO Box 2DG, 208 Piccadilly, London W1A 2DG, England (SWIFT address NWBKGB2L). Please ensure that a copy of the transfer details are attached to your Registration Form and sent to the IBA office.
